ICARHMA2018 held in Tokyo, Japan
On 26th October, 2018, ICARHMA (The International Council of Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Manufacturers Association) annual meeting was held in Hilton Tokyo Odaiba Hotel, Japan.
ICARHMA is an international council of eleven global refrigeration, air conditioning and heating industry associations, and holds meetings to exchange information among industry associations twice a year.
Each industry association hosts the meeting on a rotating basis, and JRAIA hosted this year. After 2018, annual meeting to be hosted by JRAIA will be in 2030!
The meeting was attended by 23 members from 10 industry associations of ABRAVA(Brazil), AHRI(USA), AREMA(Australia), CRAA(China), EPEE(Europe), Eurovent(Europe), HRAI(Canada), KRAIA(Korea) and JRAIA including RAMA(India) as the first time, and lively debates were exchanged.

Following opening remarks by chairman, Mr Toshiyuki Takagi (Panasonic Corporation), the guest speaker, Mr Keisho Ka, president of JARN magazine, gave a presentation on industry trends, after which information was exchanged on trends and key issues in each country.

In addition to the recent trends in the HVAC&R industry, Mr. Ka introduced examples of the IoT of air-conditioners (cameras, temperature sensors and recognition cameras for residential air-conditioners, batch temperature monitoring in nursing homes, energy-saving refrigeration equipment in logistics, etc.). Mr. Ka also raised the possibility of IT companies and the automotive industry entering and collaborating with the air-conditioning industry as a result of IT.

ICARHMA members gathered and shared information from each country on key issues of the industry over the medium to long term, as well as activities updates.
Prior to the meeting, ICARHMA members visited world heritage of Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Tochigi Prefecture.
