ICARHMA 2022 Annual meeting was held in Brussels, Belgium
On 17th October 2022, JRAIA participated in 2022 Annual meeting of ICARHMA (The International Council of Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Manufacturers Association), an international council of eleven global RACHP industry associations held in Brussels, Belgium.
This meeting is held once a year on a rotating basis by member associations to discuss positions and responses to global industry-related activities, with a focus on global environmental issues. This year, EPEE hosted a hybrid meeting which was held after two years of virtual meetings. 27 participants from ABRAVA(Brazil), AHRI(USA), AREMA(Australia), EPEE(Europe), Eurovent(Europe), HRAI(Canada), KRAIA(Korea) and JRAIA attended the meeting with CRAA(China) online.
Prior to the meeting, ICARHMA members visited the European Parliament Hemicycle, and MEP Ms. Esther de Lange briefly explained the EU’s key environment related policies.
In the meeting, members shared top 3 issues of each association. In addition, current update and concerns on PFAS and Embodied Carbon were shared. Mr. Tom von Ierland and Ms. Bente Tranholm-Schwarz from DG-CLIMA of European Commission attended the meeting as guest speakers, explained update on the EU’s policies including Fit for 55, revision of F-gas regulation, and REPowerEU.
Next annual meeting is scheduled to be held in-person on 21-22 September 2023 in Montreal Canada, to be hosted by HRAI.
